Frequently Asked Questions

How many fingerprints can I enroll into the memory?

The M10 can store up to 10 fingerprints and the Fleet Commercial systems can store up to 100+ fingerprints, making our immobilizer ideal for both: corporate and personal use.

Is the Biometric immobilizer Insurance approved?

Currently the M10 is not Insurance approved, but we have made contact with several of the larger insurance companies to gain recognition. The  M10 is constructed to the highest specification criteria.

Can the scanner read dirty fingers?

Yes, it can recognize dirty and wet prints, although, it will take a few seconds longer.

What happens if the system does not scan my fingerprint?

Should the system experience a problem, you will be able to over-ride it with a pin code, unique to you, which will enable you to start the vehicle. You should then contact AutoBiometrics so that we can assess the device.

What happens if my car goes to the garage for a service? Will I need to enter mechanics’ fingerprints?

No, there is a service mode on the system which you can access to allow the vehicle to function normally.

What happens if the vehicle’s battery is disconnected or goes dead?

The vehicle will remain immobilized. Once power is regained, the system will function as normal. It will not lose its memory.

What if a thief amputates my finger? Will it scan?

This is a very gruesome, yet frequently asked question! First of all, the scanner picks up the pulse behind the print. If the finger is not ‘live’, the scanner will not work. Secondly, a thief will be making an active decision to increase their crime from theft to grievous bodily harm and be facing a longer prison sentence, which defeats their goal. We think people are getting too caught up in the James Bond appeal of the device!

Will the system work along side existing or after market security systems?

Yes, the system will work along side OEM and after market security systems.

How long do the systems take to fit?

This depends on the type of vehicle, but roughly it takes round about 4 hours.

Is there a warranty?

24 months warranty, subject to conditions.

What happens when I sell my vehicle?

The Biometric Immobilizer can be removed and fitted to your new vehicle by AutoBiometrics, or you can sell the unit with the vehicle. It is recommended that the new owner re-registers the system under their own details with AutoBiometrics.

Can you integrate this system (flush fit/custom) into my dash so it looks like it is factory fitted?

Yes, AutoBiometrics can re-engineer the system to meet your requirements. Please contact us for further details.

Can I personally delete unwanted fingerprints?

Yes, you can personally delete unwanted fingerprints on the Biocode M10, but with the ATY-1, AutoBiometrics will have to re-program the system.
